Gentleman Tarpon Fishing Trips

Beginning in May, near the full and new moons it is time again for the “Gentleman Tarpon Fishing Trips”.  Each moon phase on the “hill” tides, several carefully selected evenings, that are primetime for jumping big tarpon, are set aside for these trips. 

Timed with some of the strongest tides of the month we target full-grown tarpon when they are concentrated feeding on large baits. Using baits “the size of a small dog”, big tackle, a fighting belt, a properly stocked “adult” cooler, good friends and a fine cigar, we fish in these concentrations of big fish.  The fishing is easy in calm waters and an excellent opportunity to put one of these big silver dinosaurs in the air. 

We leave late in the afternoon in time for a bit of snook fishing and the capture of bait.  However, before sunset, we set up in the tarpon grounds for the “King”.  If things go well, we will be back in time for a (very) late dinner in town.  If the fish are too big or hooked too late, you may have go to bed hungry!

These are great trips that can be shared with up to four friends on the same boat. The fee is $450/trip. Bring your own cooler.  This is closest thing to a real tarpon “guarantee” that we can mustard up.

There are not many days that we can do this each month, so book early.  Trips begin in May and continue through June, July, Aug and Sep with good success.

July 11, 12, & 13; July 26, 27, & 28

Aug 9, 10, & 11; Aug 25, 26 and 27
